TAHOE TATTLER

The Tahoe Tattler was Tahoe City's newspaper published (more off than on) from 1881 to 1959.  In 2021, the Gatekeeper's Museum sent original copies of the Tattler to UC Riverside to be scanned and digitized. They are now available for all to search online!

Articles by Carol Van Etten

Carol Van Etten was a dedicated Tahoe historian who authored hundreds of articles and numerous books on the region’s rich history. After her passing in October 2025, we remain committed to honoring her legacy by continuing her mission — preserving and sharing Tahoe’s history by making digital copies of her articles available to the public.
